I just trolled onto Coastal Scents to see what kind of sales are going on for Labor Day and found the hots pots plus the magnetic palettes 50% off.

Since the release of new hot pots I've been waiting for this very moment. Coastal Scents often has sales so I knew never to pay for something full price. Last year for their cyber Monday deal they first gave 40% off then closer to the date, they marked everything 50%. Patience paid off. Since then, I wait for good deals. There aren't really any swatches of the new stuff so I'll be ordering blind. Before I ever buy anything online, I look up swatches, but this time I not prepared. Hopefully I like the stuff I get.

As I write this, I just realized I'm not suppose to buy ANYTHING because I'm a project pan thing-a-ma-bob. Is this a deal I can pass up? We'll see in a few days.......

Long time no write

It's been a while since I've written a post. The reason is mainly out of pure laziness. I like to post things the same day I write them because I can never have the same train of thoughts days later and so that means a lot of time is spent writing something up. More time is the tricky part as I would to spend my free time on watching television or hanging out.

Picking up from my last post I have finished a lot of products in my "project # pan." I'll make a different post on it later as I have some hair products to include. I didn't buy the new revlon whipped foundation because I was on vacation and forgot to pack a foundation. The hardest things to hit pan on are eyeshadows because I am very light handed with application. Do anyone have the same problem? I can blow through powder foundation within months, but eyeshadows take FOREVER!

As of now I have no creative posts in mind and need a little help. Makeup has been pretty basic lately and no inspiration has hit me. I'll look around the web and see if there are any fun post I can do.

Here is a recent photo of me trying out these great ebay lashes for dirt cheap! Not the thick band for $0.10 from China kind, but averaging $3.00 clear invisible bands. Super comfortable! I'll make a post of the different lashes I've purchased through out the years.

Update on Project "finish crap up" plan

So far so good. I've actually added a few more things and threw up some stuff, but not because it was used up, but because it was old and most likely covered in bacteria. I'll take a picture as I get further down the line.

EBAY Haul - Hello Kitty Nail Art

I love Hello Kitty ever since I was a little kid. I'm not a fanatic like some people, but I do like some items here and there. These in particular just had to belong to me. I've tried painting hello kitty on my nails but it came out terrible. So terrible that I didn't even want to take a picture for my blog and generally I'll still post an ugly picture because I like to track my progression.

These were on sale at EBAY.COM (who knew ebay had sales) It is usually 9.99 plus shipping but I got it for 7.99 plus free shipping (25 count). Without hesitation, I clicked BUY. Now I haven't tried it on my nails because I'm just having it sit there looking pretty, but I'm sure these will work fine. If not, I have UV gel that will make sure that baby stays on.

If you're clumsy like me and can't draw a decent Hello Kitty, these would work wonderfully.

I would have take picture of all 25, but it would have taken up the whole page! lol If anyone want to see all of them before purchasing, let me know.

Aren't those flowers and faces cute?!!! I can't keep staring at them. Okay now I sound like a fanatic. =P

Painting my little piggies

I'm usually plain Jane when it comes to painting my nails, but lately I've been itching to try something new. For my toes, I painted strips using 1 regular black polish and 2 stripper nail art polishes. Since using tape is such a hassle, I did everything free hand.

I wish I took a picture of all the nail polishes I used but whenever I write my posts, it's always at night and in another room other than where all my supplies are located.

The flower looks messed up, but I'm still learning. After a while I get impatient and start messing up a lot.

What do you think? Simple right?

Saturday, May 19, 2012

One day on a Saturday I decided to organize my makeup. What I thought was going to be a quick 15 minute job became a two hour project. Over the months, I've collected WAY too much crap for a normal person. That was when I decided to buckle down and follow through on a "project 10 pan" type of plan.

Here are the items I've chosen for the first round

Out of all this I believe the hardest things to finish are the Covergirl eyeshadow and mascara because I'm not a huge eye makeup person. More into face products like blush and foundation. I've almost hit pan on the Maybelline foundation!

From now on I will not buy makeup; with a few exceptions.
1. on clearence/sale/coupons that marks down to 75%
2. I ran out of something
3. Don't have it or in a certain color
4. Nail related/facial related not included
5. Every time something is finished. I will replace it with something in my stash. I WILL NOT BUY NEW MAKEUP.

Whew, hopefully you don't have this problem because now I can't try new products =/

Sinful Colors Forever Pink & Pinky Glitter

Believe it or not but I have never worn a pink color on my nails before. I always felt that pinks like this were meant for cooler tone gals, but recently I decided to jump out of my comfort zone. The base color is Sinful Colors Forever Pink. Glitter coat is Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter. Walgreens was having a .99 sale on Sinful Colors so I stocked up; 17 bottles to be exact.

I bought some other colors I'm not use to so I'll be sure to post them when I wear it.

EBAY: Sina/Lina Gel Nail Review

This is my first attempt at gel nails. I bought those cheap gels from china off of Ebay (SINA) to practice. The heat spike is painful and I don't think I will use these anymore. From the endless count of youtube videos I've watched, IBD gels seem like a good brand. These took over 2 hours since it was my first time and still trying to get the hang of the drill.

I've recently bought a whole bunch of stuff from ebay to do nails so I'll try to post some more. Overall this was a fun experience and I'll definitely try to perfect this art.

Meat? I think NOT!

A new burger shop opened near my apartment and thought I'd give it a try.

I chose a garden burger with side salad
It was delicious! It think this is the best so far, but then again I haven't tried that many places. Trying to eat healthy is hard, but I'm taking baby steps.....

First Time Gel*ing*

I purchased Nailene's pink shimmer gel for my nails to go with my UV lamp. Even though your suppose to  use the base/top coat, I choose not to get it. Actually what happen was my boyfriend bought a UV lamp at Walmart so I bought all the required stuff, but when the lamp didn't work, everything went back. The customer service said the gel was on sale for $.55 and my jaws dropped! I originally bought it for 5 bucks, so she said I could return it and buy it for the current price. SCORE! The rest of the stuff I could get off of ebay.

Here is my first quick trial.

Give in to cravings...healthy ones at least

I was craving fruity ice cream on day, but didn't want to buy any, so I made some. Sort of...

I made a smoothie and but it in the freezer to give that slushy effect. Mix in some mangos, strawberries, vanilla yogurt, water then BAM!(NO SUGAR ADDED) Delicious frozen treat.....

Cooking Duet

We discovered a new dish at a thai restaurant called Panang Curry Chicken. For the next several days all we could talk about was that dish. After paying $8 bucks for the next 5 days, I got tired of the burning feeling in my wallet and looked up the recipe. Looked pretty simple, so I walked to a near by asian market and bought everything. This is how it turned out
And the final presentation...*drum roll please*
Yummmmm......At least I can say I know how to cook one dish =p

Stressful Day

I know it's bad but I nippled all of my nails off while doing homework. When I'm stressed I tend to bit my nails A LOT. Next thing I know all of my artificial nails came off. It didn't even last two days. *sigh* The good thing is I get to put on a second set for more practice, but the bad is my nail beds are a little rough. I still need more nail care items to buy online, so for the time being my cuticles look h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e! For the next project I'll throw in a little glitter and see how it works out.

Trial #1

So my package from came in yesterday and I was overly excited to try and do my nails.

Like all monomers it has a STRONG odor, which isn't good in my case since I only have one window. This factor may push me into the whole gel idea. The pink acrylic powder was translucent pink that came off as clear. I want a deeper pink so I may add in some pigments later on. As for the Deep C Curve french tips - horrible. The tips are not uniform; the curve isn't the same and I had to file it down to make them look decent. Also I don't like the tiny dishes because of the opening. I'm going to buy a different one.

So the whole process took about 2 hours and it was a PAIN! I messed up on several nails and was too lazy to fix them. Eh, it's my first time so give me a break =p Here is the final result -

I added Milani's Creme Brulee on top because I tried to cover my mistakes. Still have a lot to learn but this is a nice hobby.

I found this great nail supply store - It has everything you can think of and more. In the past, I use to get my nails done at the shop but I could NEVER sit still. Spending my weekend at a nail salon is not my idea of fun, so I decided to teach myself. After countless hours of tutorial on Youtube, I think I'm ready to step up to the (nail) plate. (lol) Hopefully if I can remember I'll document my journey.

I swear this word is going to drill a hole in my wallet. Rite Aid and Target has some really good deals going on and I can't help but check them out. =/

It's time I climb the "social ladder"

I rarely paint my nails because I hate becoming a slave of the "up keep."But recently Walgreens had a sale on Sinful Colors for $.99, which I couldn't pass. Here is a quick photo of the nail color and a simple creation I used with a Konad stamp.

I'm back! Didn't have a camera for a while so I wasn't able to make any posts.

Recently, I've been raiding all of the CVS stores near by because of the Milani clearance sale. Truth be told - if it wasn't for this sale I would have never tried this brand. Some of the stuff are on the pricey side for a drugstore line, but I'm glad I did. This line is geared towards women of color so the face products have a lot of yellow. That is perfect because I'm so yellow I belong in a Simpsons cartoon.

Here is the result of multiple trips to four different CVS in one month.
Lipstick in Manderina - Is a flattering orange shade. This
Bronzer in Medium
Concealor in Medium Beige and Light
Mineral Powder in Buff Beige
Nail Polish in NY Apple, Creme Brulee, and Cherry Pie
Mineral Blush in Mai Tai, Luminous, and Sweet Rose

So far I've only used the nail polish and powder, which I adore. The face powder is amazing and is second to my Mac Studio Fix. Hence, why I bought 3 since it was only 2.37 (I think). Although it is absolutely wonderful, I have to finish my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder first.

Have you picked up anything? Is there anything from their line that I should try?

This is my simple "rolled out of bed just in time for class" look (lol). Sonia Kashuk Tinted Moisturizer, NYC Sunny Bronzer, Sephora Liquid Eye Liner, ELF Eyebrow Pencil in Ash, and Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry.

Ouch! My poor feet....

These are so comfy to walk around the house in, but hurts like hell after several hours. They have fur lining that keep my toes warm on cold days, but hurt after a while. I tried walking the mall in these and it left my feet aching. Eventually I thought sitting on a bench was the highlight of my trip. Can you tell it's all red on the sides? How do other women do it? Without proper arch and heel support, I'm left tippy toeing until the pain stops. I'll never go on long walks like that EVER again.
